the rings!

4. the ring: tell us about it! did you pick it out? did he? pictures! tell us about his ring too!

This is kinda funny. And not normal I dont think...One day we were just bored so I wanted to go look at rings :) We went and I thought I wanted just a plain one with a single diamond. Put serveral on and hated them all. She showed me mine and I didn't love it. I said it had too much going on. Looked at some more and went back to it and tried it on. Fell in love with it. I picked out the ring and I didn't like the band that was supposed to go with it. Josh picked a band ..or two I guess that the ring sits in. So I guess it was a joint effort haha. He looked at the rings while we were there and he found one that he wanted. He said it's what he's wanted. So it worked. We bought them BOTH then and there. :)

The proposal

3. proposal: how it happened, how long were you engaged for? was it a total surprise? pictures of that... etc.


We obviously talked about marriage and talked about the ring I wanted and all that. We went and looked at rings and I put on some that I thought I wanted..hated them. She showed me mine and I put it on and fell in love. Josh talked to them and next thing I know the ring was bought. :) haha SO I knew a proposal wouldn't be a surprise knowing he had the ring already. Well that was Oct 4th or whatever..the Saturday of that weekend. I was waiting all month for it.  Never got it. On Nov 1st we went to the park to walk Ammo and play basketball and whatever. That was normal so I wasn't expecting anything at all. We started talking and looking at the stars..and I heard the box close in his pocket..he thought he was so sneaky! haha. I was completely surprised. I was just thinking finally!! We only took one pic that night and it was of my ring and I sent it to my mom. We were engaged from Nov 1st and got married Jan 27th!

2. when you knew he was the one: self explanatory.. but how and when did you know?

I know I am crazy but this one is just over the top! Let's see..we met June 25th and on July 4th before we left up to Payson to watch the fireworks and camp and hike Fossil Springs, I wrote in my journal.. ha. I don't remember exactly what I said but I know I said I was going to marry him. Yeah, that's 10 days after I met the kid. It was so crazy to me to be even thinking about marriage because at that point I was having too much fun being single. I even made all kinds of excuses to Bailey on why I'm not ready to get married, or why I can't be in a relationship. nuts. Anyway,  when we were in Payson it was SO fun. I threatened to kill him a few times for making me hike 4 miles when he told me it was only about 1.5 miles...but when we got to the waterfall it was so amazing. I defintaly knew I couldn't let him go because of the way he made me laugh, the fun we had, the way he laughed at me when I tried to be tough...he just knew me right away.

I think there might have been a handful of nights we didn't see each other after we met. I took him up to St. Johns for the Pioneer Days and he saw just how small town I was. I was in the ribbon roping ha. We always talked about how we would raise "our kids" and where we wanted to live and all that but we never said the I love you's. I sure wasn't going to say it so fast but then again why should I since he hadn't?! On August first we went to a friends house to go swimming and prob left there at about midnight. As we were driving home the song "I've got a feeling" came on and we just chatted right through it. As we drove through the intersection of Higley and Elliott (freaky memory) he said "Whitney.." I said "do'nt even say it" Then in my head thinking what the hell. what are you scared of. We got to my house and stayed in his car for hours just talking. The whole time I'm talking to him I'm having a second conversation with myself in my head ..why am I so guarded and why I didn't want him to tell me he loved me. What was I scared of, seriously! I wasn't gonna let him get away because I am a freak. I told him how I felt at 2:45..It kind of just fell out of my mouth. But I'm glad it did. I love him to death and I'm glad I had the balls to say it. Guess it's safe to say my crazy self knew I'd marry him within the first ten days of knowing him.  

How it all began

Okay. It was June 25th and it was my friend Ryan Allens birthday. I called him up to say happy birthday and he said he was going to a pool party so he picked me up and we went. We got there and we're all just talking then Josh and Travis came. I jumped in the pool and was telling all of them to come swim with me. I wasn't having too much fun by myself haha. They finally got in and I saw a kid I didn't want to see..SO I said to Josh so dramatically haha "OH MY GOSH, if that kid comes over here, act like you're my boyfriend!" He thought he was so sly with his response "Then why are you so far away?" haha I still laugh about that. Stayed there for awhile more then he asked if I wanted to go watch a movie. I said "Not really, I'm pretty tired. Maybe another time." The kid stopped at Redbox anyway! I'm like oh so you are getting a movie? He says yeah. hmm. okay. So we watch it at my house and he gets my number. (Josh doesn't really remember this night because a couple days prior he got a concussion from skating and hitting a parked car. He would KILL me for that haha. There is more to the story than that. But I don't remember.) We dated until November 1st and he proposed!

A little challenge

I always see blog challenges so I decided this one would be perfect so I can remember the most happy times instead of going home every day and remembering a share a bathroom..with a guy...who shaves his face with a battery charged shaver and doesn't wipe up the hair!!! :) I love him to pieces!
