I had a doc app on Monday the 26th and I planned on having him strip me again since I was going to be 39 weeks. When he went to check me my water broke. I left and called Josh and told him and he asked if I was going to the hospital. I told him I was going to chick fil a to get lunch then home to clean the kitchen and do some laundry so the house would be clean when we got home. He thought I was crazy but I'd rather not sit around in the hospital just waiting for the action. I called my doc about 3:30 and he told me to head on down to the hospital. They got us checked in about 4:30 and started me on pitocin. I got my epidural, I am really uncomfortable with needles so I was dreading that and the iv. The anestesiologist must have been amazing because I felt a tiny little pinch and that was it. I really liked the first nurse we had, I got a little bummed when shift switch came. I did have a nurse come in there and asked me if I was getting baby immunized. I said no. She said "giving me attitude already" when she walked out I told Josh and he said I think she was talking to the monitor...I'm pretty sure he was just trying to save her life. :) Anyway, it seemed like it took forever for me to progress! At about 4 the nurse said I was a 10 and ready to go! I said 100 times over I want them to call my doc with enough time for him to get there so he can deliver my baby. She kept saying "we can deliver babies, we know how" I said no offense, but again, I want my doctor here. Let's be honest. If something was to go wrong, I trust my doc over the nurses, not that they aren't qualified or anything. So I pushed for like 20 min and she told me to stop pushing that she needed to call the doc and she didn't think I would push her down so quick. Dr. Holmes got down there about 20 min later and about 10 more min of pushing and my princess was here! Weighing 8 lbs. 5 oz. 21.5 inches long. Her head was 14.5. I'm glad I got the epidural because I got to enjoy it all. I had the movie "Just go with it" playing so between my contractions we would be talking about that then my doc started talking about singing jingles to the old Oscar Meyer commercials. It was the smoothest I could have asked for. Harlyn came out super purple with a sweet little big cone head and screaming like a champ. She got her color within 2 minutes and is the most precious thing I've ever seen. I can't say it enough times how grateful I am that she chose Josh and I to be her parents. Josh has been the best supporter ever. Since the day we found out we were preg. I am so glad he chose to spend forever with me and to give me my little angel baby. If you come visit, yes, I'm one of those moms. Wash your hands before you touch my child :) I'll post pics later!

Best birthday ever

Feb 8 was my birthday. Can I just say best birthday ever?! I was sealed to my best friend and our family is now forever. Everyone I graduated highschool with is talking about going to grad school. or how theyre graduating college and doing something with their lives. I used to always think of how I have accomplished nothing. I quit beauty school, never wanted to go to college...I always felt a little behind. When I think about it now I'm one up! :) I found my love, we got sealed for eternity and he has to deal with me forever! :) and we're about to bring a sweet baby girl into this world and I couldn't be more thankful. Josh is SO good with kids and I know he will be such an amazing dad. I was holding Tillman and he was crying. Josh grabbed him from me and Tillman looked around and started laughing. little turd. But really, he is so patient and always wants to help in any way and I don't think anyone else would be able to put up with me the way he does. I just love him to pieces.

35 weeks

Not a lot has happened really, which is why I haven't wrote. (that's my excuse) We FINALLY moved on Feb 9 to a nicer apartment. The first one really was perfect for our first year of marriage. One bedroom, one bath..all we needed and for 400 a month you really can't beat it. We're now in a 2 bed 2 bath with a washer and dryer. favorite part! Its part of Power Ranch and we face power ranch park so it doesn't really feel like we're in a complex. I really like it. I'm going to be done working the end of this month, hopefully sooner..the lady I WAS training for a week decided to not come back after lunch! I'm so thankful that my hubbs has a job that lets me stay home so I don't miss anything about being a mom. Most think I'm crazy because yes, the budget will be tight and bla bla bla but I can't imagine missing anything. Today it kind of hit me that I'm getting so close. I don't know what to take to the hospital, I don't know what to expect, I know I'll be a hot mess and Josh will prob want to leave. haha jk I just hope I can keep up with everything.
I had a doc app yesterday and I'm measuring 34, I'm 35 weeks tomorrow. Baby girls heartbeat was 131 and I've gained 25 pounds. to get technical it's really 25.3. ha. I'm starting to get uncomfortable. I tried clipping my toe nails last night and only did two because I was out of breath! weak sauce! haha I have nothing to complain about though. I'm actually very thankful the Lord has trusted us enough to give us one of his little angels. Just one more month and she will be here! Can't wait to meet her.

30 weeks and before

As me and Bailey were shopping for fabric yesterday, she told me I was going to wish I had documented this whole pregnancy to compare to my next..she's right. I've been absolutly horrible with it. I've only taken a few pics. I thought I would remember all the dates for all 'the firsts' but..it's harder than I thought! Our very first doc app we went to was 8/29/11. Dr. Holmes was asking me all the normal questions then got his little thing out to hear the babys heart beat. He couldn't find a heart beat...my heart sunk. He said I'm not going to let you leave here not knowing. So we walked into the ultra sound room and sure enough he saw the little bean and the heart pumping! Sweet relief! I didn't get any morning sickness so I felt pretty lucky. He told me I would start to feel the baby around 16ish weeks..when I didn't feel anything I got paranoid. Little miss just didn't want to be active until about 21 weeks. We found out on Halloween we were having a girl! I didn't care either way..just a healthy baby (that wasn't a ten pounder like their father!) When Dr. Holmes said it was a girl Josh started laughing....that confused me..I mean, I KNOW he wanted a boy but I still didn't understand why it was funny we were having a girl. ha. Really I think he was still in shock and it hadn't quite set in that he was going to be a daddy. He doesn't understand why she needs so many clothes..and shoes since she wont be able to walk, I have to keep telling him that my shopping habits are normal :)

We can't wait to meet our little princess! As of my last app I have gained 12 pounds..I feel like a cow and I have another app on Thursday! Can't wait.

Playing catch up

We're goin back...waaaay back. Like, to July 2010. That was a busy month. My sister Kellie had girls camp she had to go to so she flew me out to TX for a week to watch all 5 of her kids. I had an absolute blast! The day I flew home Josh picked me up and from the airport we drove straight up to St. Johns for Pioneer Days. We had a family trip planned to Anaheim California and I knew we'd be going to Disney Land and California Adventures so I decided to take a pregnancy test before we left..POSITIVE! I freaked out. Josh was at work and I was in total shock. I saw it...paused, looked again, I started crying, then started laughing at myself for crying haha I know its normal to come up with some cute way to tell your husband you're preg..especially with your first, but I couldn't even wait till he got home! I text him and told him to call me on his break..I am lame! :) Anyway, we rode to Cali with my parents and met up with Chris & Bailey and Kellie & Tony and all the kids. We went to Disney Land and the beach. Kellies family, my parents and Josh and I ALL stayed in a little suite at a hotel (mad house ha) but it was really fun. We missed Jamies family and Levis family..maybe next time!

Baileys birthday

Today is my older sisters birthday..I can't say big because, well...she isn't big haha. My aunt Chris, Jamie and her kids, Bailey and I went to sweet cakes on Main St. for lunch. I planned on paying for bailey but we got there and they only accept cash?? so she paid. I got $$ from the atm next door and paid her back for hers and mine. lol We had a good time. She is such a good sister. (They all are) even thought when we both still lived at home she would never let me hang out with her and her friends cause i was the annoying little sister :) but she has always been willing to help me or anyone else if they need it. She is now 25 and preggs with another nephew for me! She is such a good wife and mother to her kids..I hope I get her patience because if not....well that would be sad. She has taught her boys to be so smart and have such good personalities and does everything she possibly can for them.

When I was in High school I thought Prom was the biggest thing to ever happen. She made sure she was in SJ every time so she could do my hair. She was even there for a few homecomings to do it. So on the biggest thing to REALLY ever happen, my wedding day!!, she of course jumped to do my hair. and It was great.

Whole lot of nothing.

I know, it's been forever. I can't even use the excuse I've been too busy to update because that would be a lie ha. We went up to SJ for a few days. Josh had 5 days off so we left Wed about 4:30. Chris and Bailey went up there too. We went to the Fiesta Parade and saw a lot of people I haven't seen in awhile. Also heard more about people in those few days than I have in the last year I'm pretty sure haha. We got ready for my parents 1:00 church only to find out it was stake conference and we totally missed it. We then changed our clothes and went shooting :) Saturday night Ridgen took a nap until about 6:00...BIG mistake hahaha. He was SO wired that night..Bailey my mom and I were playing a card game (which I lost BAD at) and he was running through us, jumping on me..so funny I couldn't handle it. my dad started playing with him..That was the cutest. Such imaginations.

I bought a chest and a side table at Goodwill for 5 bucks each. In the process of making them gems..pics to come!

In other news. I'm getting another nephew!! How exciting.
